It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
