The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
